Need for Greater Payload

Maximizing your resources means ensuring productivity and efficiency on every transport assignment. With Quester’s optimized tare weight and driveline, every truck in your fleet operates at full capacity—delivering higher payloads, improved fuel economy, and reduced wear and tear. This translates into lower maintenance costs and better Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), helping you achieve long-term profitability.

Optimized Tare Weight

Transport more with Quester. When combined with a powerful driveline, lighter tare weight offers the possibility to transport more cargo on longer distances.

Optimized Driveline and Robust Manual Transmission

The 8-liter and 11-liter engines are powered by UD Trucks’ advanced technology and combine reliability with performance — delivering high torque from low revs with flat torque curves.

Quester models come with a choice of reliable and durable, 6-speed, 9-speed and 12-speed manual transmission, that can cope with the toughest demands in various operation conditions.

ESCOT — Automated Manual Transmission

With key aluminum components integrated into the ESCOT automated manual transmission, the Quester achieves a lightweight design for higher payloads. ESCOT available with GH8E and GH11E optimizes gear selection, reducing clutch operation to minimize driver fatigue and fuel fluctuations — ensuring efficient, productive driving with high speeds and low operating costs.

The PWR+ mode on ESCOT makes construction assignments productive with increased power and high running performance in tough conditions. It features a rock loose mode for quick escape when stuck in slippery and muddy conditions.

Transmission Retarder

The retarder works in coordination with UD Trucks’ Extra Engine Brake (UD EEB) to maintain a steady speed on downhill routes without relying on service brakes. This system not only preserves brake health for longer replacement intervals but also delivers additional braking efficiency alongside conventional brakes, ensuring safer operation in demanding conditions such as steep descents and heavy-load environments. The result: improved productivity, reduced maintenance costs, and enhanced driver confidence.
