SAFETY
Built to be safe and secure
Croner’s active and passive safety features protect your company’s precious resources –the people, the fleet, and the customer’s cargo – as well as the surrounding traffic.
Effective braking performance
S-cam full air brakes with automatic slack adjustment provide effective stopping power, anti-lock brake system with electronic brakeforce distribution are standard.
“Croner is very powerful. The brakes are great, when you put your foot on the pedal you know the truck is going to stop. And the steering is very soft. The cab is high and offers good vision and comfortable seating. This truck made me feel safe.”
Piet Baloyi, Fleet supervisor, Vital Distribution Solution
Clear illumination for all situations
Superior visibility with headlamps featuring height adjustment, fog lights, and daytime running lights. Daytime running lamps are standard for the Croner.
Stable handling platform
Croner is designed with excellent handling and stability that is further improved with a standard front anti-roll bar. For trucks with a high centre of gravity, such as mixers, this additional stability is a key safety feature.
Strong cab and durable high tensile steel frame
Croner’s steel frame provides strength and safety. The reinforced cab has been developed under strict deflection, crash and durability targets. It meets the Japanese safety requirements of a flat barrier impact at 40 km/h, and is ECE R29 cab strength compliant.
Front underrun protection system (FUPS)
All variants of Croner come with ECE R93 compliant front underrun protection, effectively protecting other vehicles and road users.
Dual-setting speed limiter
Croner has a dual speed limiter function:
- Default speed limit: Based on Australian Design Rules, the road speed limiter is set in the factory to 100 km/h.
- Selective speed limit: Through the IC (Instrument Cluster) – the speed limit function can be set by the operator to any speed less than the default speed. This setup is password protected. This may help to reduce accidents caused by excessive speed and may reduce fuel consumption.
