UD Truck Distributors NZ Ltd (UD Trucks NZ) unveiled the new Condor to customers, industry and guests at a launch event at its Auckland head office in Wiri on Wednesday 22 April 2026.

Zane Erwee, General Manager UD Trucks NZ said “Today marks the debut of the new Condor range in New Zealand. It’s a major step forward for us in the medium duty sector. The previous version of the Condor was very popular with Kiwi truck owners.”

He continued, “The reimagined Condor combines the previous model’s capability with the latest UD Trucks technology, creating valuable medium and heavy-duty additions to the range. Pre-orders are a positive signal that buyers are happy to welcome the Condor back.”

The new range spans nine models offered in 4x2, 6x2, and 6x4 configurations, with a choice of leaf or air suspension. Wheelbase options run from 4660 mm to 6950 mm, giving operators flexibility across medium to heavyduty applications.

"The new Condor reflects changing transport industry demands,” said Simon Fransson, Region Director Oceania, UD Trucks. “It combines the versatility our customers rely on with enhanced safety features, greater efficiency, and a driver‑focused design —without compromising the dependability Condor is known for.”

All units are powered by DB6A 6.7L inline six-cylinder turbo-diesel engine, developed to meet EURO 6 emission standards. The engine retarder ensures smooth, controlled deceleration and is combined with a six-speed fully automatic Allison transmission, available in 3000 Series for 4x2 models and 3500 Series for 6x2 and 6x4 configurations.

Fuel efficiency sits at the core of the new design, supported by improvements such as a more aerodynamic cab that reduces drag and enhances stability, along with Full Speed Range Adaptive Cruise Control (FACC) for smarter, more efficient speed management.

Along with a range of safety features including Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS), Adaptive Driving Beam (ADB) and an Advanced Emergency Braking System (AEBS), its Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) help improve control and reduce risk in New Zealand driving conditions.

Zane adds “We have gone the extra mile with a thoughtfully designed interior. This is about driver-first functionality and includes features like an ISRI seat with air suspension, ventilation and heating, and airbags for both driver and passenger. We have made sure that everything is in easy reach in the cockpit style cab so drivers will love the Condor experience as much as the heavy-duty UD Trucks Quon”.

Condor customers can include UD’s proprietary telematics system, UD Connected Services, and UD Trust fixed price service plans. The Condor has a standard three-year warranty and an extended five-year warranty available.

The Condor is supported by a network of UD Trucks Dealers and nationwide service and parts network. This aftermarket support network has expanded over the past 12 months to include eight additional Truckstops locations in the North Island.

The Croner range has been phased out. UD Trucks will continue to support Croner operators through its nationwide service and parts network.
