Quester tops 10,000 worldwide sales

• Quester is highly evaluated for its high Japanese quality while meeting the needs of each market
• Closer customer communication and enhancement of sales network in each market also contributes to reaching the milestone
• Telematics system and continuous improvement in the product to further sales boost

Worldwide sales of UD Trucks’ growth market oriented heavy-duty truck Quester have passed the 10,000 vehicle mark.

Quester is UD Trucks’ first heavy duty truck developed specifically for growth markets. UD Trucks has deployed its long experience and expertise in heavy duty trucks to develop the Quester with a concept of meeting market needs in each country. Quester boasts a highly durable chassis, fuel efficient yet high-output engine, and superior transmission delivering high drivability. Not limited to long haul transport, Quester is designed to serve a wide range of applications including mining, construction, and distribution.

Quester was presented to the world and started to be sold in Thailand in August 2013. Quester was then introduced in Indonesia and Malaysia, to the Middle East and Africa in 2015 , and to Central and South America in 2017. Currently Quester is sold in 24 markets except for Japan.

On reaching this milestone, Toshihiko Odawara, UD Trucks Vice President in charge of product strategy in growth markets remarked “Quester has been a great success, particularly in the ASEAN market. We have made continuous improvement in the product even after it was launched, to better meet the needs of each market. In addition to the high Japanese quality, the success of Quester is attributed to the efforts and support of our sales partners and increased communication opportunities with customers.”

UD Trucks is continuously strengthening its product appeal and envisages further growth in Quester sales. The telematics system, fitted as standard on all vehicles, provides breakdown assistance, preventive maintenance analysis and corrective service scheduling, greatly increasing operating efficiency. “In recent years, competition is increasingly intense in transportation and construction. Driver shortages and high fuel costs also pose serious challenges. With our customers’ success in mind, UD Trucks offers products and services to meet the needs and trends in all markets”, commented Mr. Odawara.
