UD Trucks holds welcome ceremony for 185 new graduates in Japan

New-Grads-Lead

UD Trucks continues to invest in talent by recruiting 185 new graduates in Japan. On April 1, 2022 the company welcomed a diverse group of 108 Japanese and 77 non-Japanese, with a total of 10 nationalities represented.

Still mindful of the ongoing pandemic, the ceremony was a hybrid in nature, held in-person and online. The main venue at Ageo headquarters gathered roughly half of the new graduates, with the remainder connected by video conference from seven locations across the country.

Kouji Maruyama, newly appointed as president of UD Trucks from April 1, welcomed the new graduates by saying, "The world around us is changing faster than ever, and we need to be at the forefront of driving positive change. We need to partner with others to meet the challenges of today and provide transportation solutions for tomorrow.

This means investing in CASE (Connected Autonomous Shared Electric) and tackling the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals). We pride ourselves in our commitment to diversity and inclusion, and serving others with a smile. All of our efforts are tied to our Better Life purpose, to make life better for people and the planet. Please take these values to heart as you embark on your career at UD Trucks."
