Volvo Group announced on Sep. 19 the launching of UD Trucks in Korea (CEO, Youngjae Kim). UD Trucks, a wholly owned subsidiary of Volvo Group, is a global truck brand known for outstanding quality, durability and fuel efficiency in over 60 countries worldwide. A launching ceremony was held at “Seoul Marina Club” to celebrate the launch and the Quon 6x4 cargo truck was unveiled, the first imported 15-ton cargo truck model in Korea.
The innovative Quon 6x4 cargo truck whose name means “Eternal Flow of Time” reflects UD Trucks ambition for continuous development and growth. The Quon model comes with a stylish modern design, strong power output and cutting-edge features for driver comfort and productivity. The company expects the Quon to be the rational choice in the Korea 6x4 cargo truck market.
The in-line 6-cylinder UD GH11 engine delivers a power output of 419HP with optimized and proven fuel efficiency. Maximum torque of 203kg.m from 950rpm to 1,400rpm results in a superior climbing capability combined with increased drivability by minimizing gear shifts. The truck provides best in class fuel economy through state-of-the-art technologies including high performance unit injector, SOHC 4-valve mechanism, durable turbo charger and UD Trucks’ own patented engine brake EEB. It also meets Euro 5 by applying SCR system, which was pioneered by UD Trucks in 2004. At that time, UD Trucks was the first truck maker in the world to commercialize the 5 SCR solutions for Euro 5 compliance.
“UD Trucks will provide dependable products, top quality service levels and excellent fuel economy for customers’ profitability,” said Youngjae Kim, CEO of UD Trucks Korea. “Fuel economy and durability over the trucks’ life cycle are most critical elements in customers purchasing decision. It also delivers modern style as well as a wealth of safety and amenity features, paving the “Road to your Success”, UD Trucks’ global brand statement.”
UD Trucks Korea plans to introduce a variety of new models for customers in Korea and fully leverage Volvo Trucks’ solid nationwide network on 25 service points.
The Quon 6x4 cargo truck will be priced between 125,500,000 - 133,400,000 won including VAT depending on specification. This offer will help customers looking for reasonable solutions for their business.
