The UD TRUCKS cab-over-engine (COE) design affords outstanding visibility. Its wide panoramic windshield gives the driver uncluttered forward and side-to-side views of the road. So, whether you're backing into a loading dock in L.A. or dodging taxis in Manhattan you'll always know where you're going.
Cities Are Not Kind to Large Turning Radiuses
At the end of a hard day, the last thing you need is the blare of car horns as you arm wrestle a U-turn. The COE design you'll find in all UD TRUCKS, results in tighter turning radiuses and significantly better maneuverability than you'll find in conventional cab commercial vehicles. Depending on the model and wheelbase, UD TRUCKS feature a turning radius as short as 17.4 feet.

the challenge. UD TRUCKS
brake systems are designed
to provide the stopping
performance you need for
the specific GVWR. The UD1200
and the UD1400 utilize a
vacuum assisted hydraulic
brake system with front
disc brakes and rear drum
brakes. Both models are
standard
with
an engine exhaust brake
to provide improved braking
and better service brake
life.
The UD1800CS, with it's 17,995 lbs. GVWR, features an air-over-hydraulic brake system with ABS. This combination provides superior stopping performance for added driver confidence. An engine exhaust brake is also standard.
