UD Dealers Celebrated at Annual Conference

UD Trucks Southern Africa celebrated their best-performing dealers at its recent Annual Dealer Conference, held at the Legends Golf and Safari Resort in Limpopo.

The gala event honoured the top achievers from within UD’s South African dealer network, with prizes going to winners in 25 categories ranging from sales administrators to technicians, drivers, finance as well as parts executives.  

“As you can see from the achievements celebrated tonight, the standard in the UD Trucks dealer network is extremely high,” said Rory Schulz, managing director of UD Trucks Southern Africa.  

The Dealer of the Year Award went to McCarthy Commercial Vehicles Boksburg, who also walked away with many of the evening’s category prizes.  

“McCarthy Commercial Vehicles Boksburg set the benchmark in all the various disciplines within its dealership. From training to sales and after-market care, this dealership simply excelled during 2014,” said Schulz.  “The dealership is known for their teamwork, their communication and cooperation across all the departments, as well as for being proactive in all their dealings with their customers.  Simply stated, they really do go the extra mile in everything they do.”  

The Medium Dealer of the Year title was awarded to the team from Produkta Trucks in Nelspruit, who recorded a stellar performance measured against the strict requirements set by UD Trucks in sales, service and parts.  

Nine years ago, UD Trucks Southern Africa started an active programme to support and improve the standard at dealership level, identifying that great progress has been made by dealers around the country. The Most Improved Dealer of the Year Award, celebrates a dealership's tenacity to better their quality of service and to show exceptional improvement, and this year the award was presented to UD Trucks North Coast.  

The awards event was preceded by a dedicated Business Session, which was attended by all the dealer representatives from across the country.  The focus during this event was on the goals and targets set out for 2015, and how UD will be supporting dealers in reaching them.

“As the local truck market is relatively flat in terms of growth, we urge all dealer staff members to fight for every truck sale, parts sale and service opportunity out there,” said Schulz.  “I believe that in a highly competitive market such as this, it is the UD service and support that make a real difference in our customers’ operations.”
