UD Trucks reveals that a new truck developed for growth markets will be launched in 2013. It will have a wide range of applications, from both off-road and on-road use to mining, construction and long-haul transportation, allowing it to meet the different needs of growth markets.

The new UD truck range that will be unveiled during 2013 is developed for fast-growing markets to seize growth opportunities. “With the truck, we will have a wide range of offers that is unparalleled in this market. It is designed, priced and equipped for our target customers in selected markets.” says Taizo Matsuo, Vice President of UD Trucks Product Management.

The new truck will have a wide range of applications, from both off-road and on-road use to mining, construction and long-haul transportation. As one of the leading Japanese truck brands, established in 1935 and part of the Volvo Group since 2007, UD Trucks presents a new product range that will set a brand-new standard that combines the best of three worlds; UD’s heritage of Japanese craftsmanship and customer care, Volvo Group’s global technology, and cost efficiency through local manufacturing and sourcing.

“With the combination of the new product range and investments in the network to better serve our customers, we believe that we will obtain a much better position in such competitive markets”, says Taizo Matsuo.

This new truck range will be launched in major Asian markets. A production system for completely built-up UD trucks is under development in Thailand, India and China. Further details on how the new range will be positioned on the market will be revealed when the new truck range is launched.

“UD Trucks will be the first Japanese brand to offer a wide range of variants developed to meet the different needs of all fast-growing markets with one common platform at affordable prices,” says Taizo Matsuo.
